Dorset consumers warned over unsafe chainsaws sold door-to-door
Dorset County Council are warning about door-to-door chainsaw sellers - with concerns raised about the safety of the items.
Trading standards officers are urging consumers to be on their guard after receiving several complaints, with sellers often having no contact address or telephone number.
Neil Martin, trading standards officer at Dorset County Council, said: "Chainsaws are potentially dangerous unless used by experienced operators. We are also concerned that equipment like this has been offered for sale around Dorset without required safety warnings and user manuals with appropriate instructions for use.
"We are currently trying to track down the original source of some of the chainsaws being sold door-to-door, and we are warning potential consumers to stick to trusted suppliers and known outlets."

The council advises consumers to have the confidence to say no when pressured into buying, talk to someone they trust for a second opinion and think who they are buying the product from.
