Dorset coastal walker calls 999 - to rescue his lost iPhone

A beachgoer called 999 to try to attract the Coastguard – because he had lost his phone.

The caller dropped his iPhone between some rocks on the Dorset coast near Portland on Sunday.

An angry local Coastguard told him it was not an emergency.

Later that day the service was called out on a real emergency, to help South West Ambulance evacuate a 45-year-old man who was suffering a fit at Mupe Bay in West Lulworth.
