Dorset MP celebrates anniversary of local care home
A Dorset MP joined staff to celebrate the 21st anniversary of a Sturminster Newton care home.
Bob Walter, MP for North Dorset visited the Nazareth Lodge along with staff, friends and residents of the residential care home.
Mr Walter addressed 70 guests as part of the anniversary celebrations. The MP opened the Nazareth Lodge's first extension in 2004, and has returned on several occasions to lend his support.
The home has been rewarded as part of the Gold Standard Framework in Care homes for its work in end-of-life palliative care.

"I was really pleased to hear that Nazareth Lodge has been recognised through the Gold Standard Framework for its palliative care work" said Mr Walter.
"This is testament to the team's focus on dignity in care and creating a home from home environment where people can remain without the constant recourse to acute or secondary care services.
"Such high quality, end-of-life care is without doubt better for residents, their families and the NHS. This should be what we come to expect from all residential care providers."
