THERE's a real treat at Poole Lighthouse tonight, Friday 15th February, when the Jim Mullen Reunion Quartet plays as part of the Studio Jazz season. As the name suggests, this is a reunion of the Quartet that was in existence for six years from 1996, with Enzo taking the drum chair originally filled by Gary Husband or Ian Thomas, Gareth Williams on piano and Mick Hutton, bass. The original quartet released five CDs, from We Go Back (1996) to Somewhere In The Hills (2002). The band will be playing a mostly new repertoire with occasional reference to previously played or recorded material. Jim Mullen has always maintained that this was the best band he ever had.
