The Dorset side remain in 21st place in the league table - one place ahead of basement side Truro City, but only six points behind seventh placed Farnborough.

It took Bromley twenty minutes to open the scoring when Louie Theophanous's low drive hit the wet surface and evaded Magpies goalkeeper Jason Matthews.

Smeeton replaced Neil Martin at half time, but the substitute was shown a red card on the hour mark for a proffesional foul - handing his side an uphill struggle.

It quickly went from bad to worse for The Magpies after Moses Swaibu doubled the visitors' lead - striking on the rebound after a Bromley free-kick.

Moments later, Dorchester conceded a penalty - and despite Matthews saving the spot kick from Theophanous, Elliot Buchanan was on hand to make it 3-0 and kill the contest.

With time running out, Theophanous grabbed his second goal of the game to round off a dismal night for The Magpies.

Dorchester have not won a league game at The Avenue Stadium since September.
