A Family Thing, at 59 High Street, includes Talitha's Cakes, the fledgling business of Talitha Crowe.

A graduate of Bournemouth University, with a BA in Computer Visualisation and Animation, Talitha has chosen to use her animation skills to bring her beautiful cake designs to life, using many old family recipes.
Cakes are made to order, anything from wedding to Christmas, christening, birthday, or simple cakes and biscuits for a party. Call in to see what Talitha can do, try a piece of cake or just browse.

With Christmas just around the corner there is a gingerbread house to admire - with sample biscuits to taste - as well as traditional fruit Christmas cakes.
The business also includes An Occasional Chair, restored furniture and other pre-loved home ware, as well as knitting yarns made from banana silk and re-cycled sari silk, and vintage crockery.
Talitha's mum Dale Crowe also does alterations, dressmaking and hand-made gifts for the shop.
