Dazzling GCSE success at Poole Grammar
POOLE Grammar School students achieved some dazzling GCSE and IGCSE results this summer with 100 per cent of pupils gaining at least 5 A*- C grades, comprising approximately 58 cent A*/A grades, with approximately 63% pupils achieving at least 5 A*/ A grades and 26 cent gaining 10 or more A/A*. A large number of pupils additionally gained A grades in AS ICT and A** IGCSE Further Maths. There were some outstanding individual performances with top performers; Sam Harradine 11 A*; Edward Benn, Sam Parkin, Dawid Starosta and David Wassell 10A* which is to be commended and reflects talent, aspiration and application, qualities exhibited by all our pupils.
Ian Carter, Headmaster said: “I am delighted that the boys did so well, especially those who have had to struggle through ill health and a range of other difficulties to gain their qualifications. We were particularly pleased to see the increase in the number of pupils gaining at least 10 or more A/A*grades which are the currency for Russell group universities. It is a testament to the excellent teaching, the commitment of pupils, the support of parents and the outstanding pastoral care of our pupils that they did so well. We were also pleased to see that despite national trends our results continue to rise.”
