Daffodils come early in Dorset as mild weather lingers
Above-average temperatures and heavy rain have brought daffodils into bloom two months early in the Dorset town of Lyme Regis.
Dry weather and mild temperatures are expected this weekend across the Westcountry as the wet weather respite is set to continue.

Cloud will remain in place for most of the weekend although glimpses of sunshine may be seen later today as high pressure dominates.
Met Office spokesman Charlie Powell described the weather forecast as “benign”.

He said: “Today there will be cloud with outbreaks of light drizzle with breaks of shine later in the afternoon in parts of Devon and Cornwall, and Somerset and Dorset.”
“The high pressure system is dragging in mild and moist air which tends to drum up cloudy conditions.”
Last year was one of wettest years on record in the South West with total rainfall at 1,574mm (62 inches). The figures came as the Met Office said the country could be getting more annual rainfall and more intense downpours.
