Couple ring for help as car trapped in flood water near Sturminster Newton
An elderly couple's car became stuck in flood water which was about a metre deep in Hammoon village near Sturminster Newton.
The couple rang 999 for help at around 4pm yesterday as the water levels, from recent downpours, trapped their vehicle.
Fire crews from Sturminster Newton rushed to the scene but by the time they had arrived the couple had waded through the water to dry land.
Crews made sure the car did not contaminate the water before leaving the scene.
