Couple rescued after car stuck in Melplash
Two fire crews and a special rescue team were called to assist a couple whose car had got stuck in floodwater in Melplash last night.
The car was stuck in about nine inches of floodwater on the A3066 at around 12.30am. Firefighters managed to push the car to safety and the occupants were left in the care of the police.

There were also reports of flooding on the A35 at Bloxworth this morning and drivers were warned to take extra care on the dangerous bend.
