Christchurch residents asked for views on two-hour parking charge
FOLLOWING the Christchurch Chamber of Trade’s request for a ‘£1 for two hours’ parking rate in town centre car parks, Christchurch Council is asking for residents’ and visitors’ views on the proposal.
People can give their views in a questionnaire at https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/C855Q9F.
Alternatively, paper copies are available at Christchurch Civic Offices, Christchurch Information Centre and Two Riversmeet Leisure Centre.
Councillor Claire Bath, portfolio holder said: “The Chamber of Trade has gathered signatures in a petition asking for a £1 charge for two hours’ parking in our town centre car parks. We are keen to work with the Chamber to increase footfall in our town and use of our car parks.

“The proposal may mean that anyone parking for a shorter time than two hours would still have to pay £1. We would like to know how people feel about this and whether they support the proposal."
Responses should be returned by 5pm on 22 October.
