Christchurch play on Edinburgh Fringe
REGENT Rep has taken its production of Baddies to the Edinburgh Fringe this year, where it has won critical acclaim.
The play, described as a “wickedly funny production” is on at The Space on the Mile until tomorrow, Saturday.
The Regent Centre’s in-house theatre group were runners-up in last year in Sky Arts TV’s The Nation’s Best Am Dram.
Baddies is a one-act tragicomedy about how absurdly moviemakers and the media represent good and evil, making light of a dark reality. On the a movie set an arch-villain meets a real villain as serious actor typecast as arch-villain dreams of playing a real character. Haunted by the noble, artistic ideals of his old acting professor, Sergio decides he will stop at nothing and sacrifice everything to finally show the world a real human being.
