Christchurch councillor recognised for long service

COUNCILLOR David Fox, who has represented Christchurch Commons for 37 years was recognised for his long service at the last full meeting of Dorset County Council.

Chairman John Wilson said: "David has been both leader of the council and leader of the opposition, but no-one has ever been in doubt of the tenacity with which he has looked after the interests of Christchurch. He has represented Dorset on a variety of bodies, including the Local Government Association, and has gained the remarkable distinctions of an OBE and a Deputy Lieutenant of the county."

Mr Fox was presented with a certificate and a piece of glassware.
