Chris Harris will ride for Poole Pirates in tonight's Elite League Grand Final decider against Swindon Robins at Wimborne Road (7.30pm).

The Pirates had planned to use Niels Kristian Iversen as their booked replacement for Darcy Ward, who was injured in an attack outside a Dorset pub on Friday night.

Iversen, though, is stranded in Poland due to fog and will not be able to make the meeting.

However Poole promoter Matt Ford was able to bring in Harris at very short notice this afternoon, because the Cornishman's Coventry Bees side have seen their match against Belle Vue Aces called off due to the weather.

It was a stunning performance by Harris two years ago that helped Coventry Bees beat Poole Pirates in the 2010 play-off final.

Coventry's team manager that day was Alun Rossiter, and he will lead Swindon Robins into battle tonight with a seven-point advantage.

Poole are confident to avoid any bad weather and hold the meeting at the third attempt. It was rained off last Wednesday, and again on Friday.

A statement on the Poole Pirates website said: "Low level cloud continues to hang over the Poole area, producing droplets of moisture but nothing at this stage that would threaten tonight's meeting going head, at the third attempt."
