Charity holds free event in Sherborne
A charity has invited Sherborne residents to learn more about its work in an event on Wednesday.
Hope and Homes for Children is holding a free open evening from 7pm, at The Powell Theatre, Abbey Road.
The charity seeks to transform harmful and outdated childcare practices in central and eastern Europe and Africa in countries such as Romania and Rwanda.
It focuses on altering the policy of the countries and disbanding institutions by working closely with the respective governments.

It is now seeking to firmly establish itself in Sherborne and has invited founder Mark Cook to speak about the charity's work.
Students from Sherborne School will also talk about a challenge they took part in to raise money for the charity.
Community fundraiser Judith Simpson urged residents to attend the event.
She said: "We've had a lot of support from a number of Sherborne individuals and organisations, but we are now hoping to expand.
"We want to create a bigger presence in the town, work on more campaigns and promote awareness of the charity.
"We would like to open a branch here and we are seeking volunteers."
