The brothers, 23, and 18, of Bradford Abbas, donate all proceeds to The Rendezvous to help with paying for musical facilities and give youngsters a place to showcase their musical talents.

Simon said that following the success of a debut gig at the venue last month he and Joe hope to roll out regular events through the summer.

He said: “The first event was really popular and a huge success all round. Now we want to kick-start the bank holiday in Sherborne with another.

“The courtyard has a great atmosphere on a summer evening.

“The event is also perfect for families and just about anyone who enjoys music.”

This evening’s event takes place between 5.30pm and 10.30pm, and features music from groups Popeye and the Pixies, Rhyme Intrinsica, Roxy and the Box and many others.

Entry is £3 and refreshments are on sale.

The event will include a raffle draw for a specially made crown-shaped Diamond Jubilee cake.

Claire Porter, owner of Chapter House, commissioned the cake from Bare Cakes, of Sherborne, to add to the donations.

She said: “This cake, which has been beautifully baked in the shape of a crown, is Chapter House Books and Bare Cake’s contribution to the Jubilee celebrations.

“It will be an ideal addition to any street or village party.”

Raffle tickets for the cake are on sale in advance at the bookshop and on the evening priced at £1.
