Canford School performance for model violinist
NEXT Friday 20th September, violinist and fashion model Charlie Siem comes to the concert hall at Canford School for the first recital in the Canford Music Society’s autumn season.
Not only is Charlie one of the UK’s brightest classical stars but he has a parallel career in front of the camera. He was the face of Dunhill in 2012, and has also featured in advertising campaigns for Dior and Mario Testino.
He began playing the violin at the age of three, and is now in demand with orchestras around the world, playing in the UK with the LSO and the RPO.
His 2008 debut CD attracted rave reviews, and a subsequent album which includes spectacular virtuoso repertoire from the great violin masters was also highly acclaimed.

Educated at Eton and Cambridge, this son of Norwegian billionaire Kristian Siem plays a violin previously owned by Yehudi Menhuin, and has played at the Royal Albert Hall alongside The Who’s Roger Daltrey and Pete Townsend.
Christopher Sparkhall, director of music at Canford, is delighted to have booked Charlie to open the 2013/14 season.
“To have a performer of Charlie’s calibre and profile at Canford is very exciting. We’re incredibly lucky to have secured him to come to perform at Canford as he really is a premier-league musician and he is used to playing in much larger venues!
“This is the first concert that Charlie has given in this part of the country, and I hope that many people will want to come and watch him perform,” he says.
The music starts at 7.30. For more information, telephone 01202 847486 or email firstname.lastname@example.org
