Burglars take car and tools in Blandford garage raid

BURGLARS used a Blandford garage's courtesy car to get away with tools and equipment worth thousands of pounds.

The raid at MVS motor repair business on the Sunrise Business Park saw dozens of Snap-On tools, diagnostic equipment, laptop computers and a charity collection stolen during Saturday night.

The silver Vauxhall Corsa courtesy car was discovered on Sunday a few hundred yards away at Shottesford Avenue.

Owners Tony Vincent and Dan Hurst vowed to carry on with business as usual on Monday morning.

Now they hope that people will spot the stolen items being sold at car boot sales or offered cheaply elsewhere so that their tools can be recovered and the thieves arrested.

Mr Vincent said the cost including repairing damage to the premise's security system and the rear door that was forced for access could be £12,000.

The haul included Ethos diagnostic equipment and GM Vauxhall tech 2 equipment as well as a collection for Julia's House children's hospice charity.
