The Bournemouth Lions are looking to get back to winning ways after being forced into an early Christmas break.

The Dorset side haven't been in action since November 17, when a last minute try handed Launceston a win at Chapel Gate.

Lions Director of Rugby David Dunn will be hoping his rested side can start December with a win over Lydney on Saturday.

"The physicality is taking its toll on the players" explained Dunn.

"This break was longer than the Christmas break, so we're using it to get some work done in the gym and to get some rehabilitation done on the players."

The Lions' break from first team action is actually longer than the Christmas break. However, Dunn insists his side won't be taking their foot off the accelerator before Christmas.

"We've got three big games before Christmas, and we really need to win at least two of those games" added Dunn.

Lydney have endured a torrid time this season. Despite an opening-day victory over Barking, the Gloucestershire side went on a run of ten straight defeats.

The Lions will go into Saturday's clash as favourites, but last week Lydney narrowly edged past Dings Crusaders for a vital win.

The Lions Kick off at 2.30pm on Saturday at Chapel Gate.
