Bournemouth Lions: Flexibilty vital as Dunn targets mid-table by Christmas
Bournemouth Rugby boss David Dunn has praised his versatile squad - and hopes Saturday's win over Southend can kick-start his side's campaign.
An impressive performance from Ben Stevenson out of his usual fly half position - helped the Lions control territory against their National League Two rivals. The former London Irish and Bath Academy star put in an strong display at full back in his side's 31-15 win over Southend.

Stevenson, who has been struggling with a hamstring problem - was the best player on the pitch during the first half, involved heavily in the Lions' attacking moves, while making some important tackles.
"It's great to have these players and put them into different positions. It's great to have that flexibility within the squad" said Dunn, speaking after Saturday's game against Southend.

"I thought Ben had a really good first half and coped with the breeze extremely well. He's a very astute player and makes the right decisions all the time."
Moving Stevenson to full back allowed Dunn to use George Drake at fly half against their Essex opponents. The Lions dominated Saturday's game, but struggled to turn their superiority into points.
Bournemouth controlled scrums and lineouts, and powerful play by their pack gave the Dorset side just enough energy and momentum to record their third win of the season - and a vital bonus point.
"We're breaking the season into four-week chunks" added Dunn.
"We hit our first target, but we missed the last one. But this has got us underway with our third target for the season, so if we do well in the next three games and hit that target - we'll comfortably be in mid-table by the time Christmas comes around.
"it's a big step up from last season. There's no gimmies in this league and we're playing week in week out trying to pick up every point we can."
The Lions will be looking for their first away win in National League Two South when they visit Clifton this weekend.
