The home side continued to dominate the early stages as Pete Fleck powered over to extend Blandford's lead. The visitors made a quick response, scoring a try after charging down a clearance kick.
East Dorset grew in confidence and some poor defending from the hosts allowed the visitors to take the lead with their second try of the game. The lead didn't last long as Tom Richings scored following a rolling maul to restore Blandford's lead.
After half time, the hosts' lead was cut to a single point as East Dorset pounced on a fumble, finishing a well-worked move to score in the corner. East Dorst took advantage of some more questionable tackling from the hosts and secured a bonus point with their fourth try of the game – giving the away side a 25-22 lead.
A calm penalty from Doug Baker levelled the scores with 18 minutes remaining – before East Dorset went on to dominate territory as the game drew to a close. The visitors missed a penalty kick in front of the posts which would have been enough for victory.
Baker almost broke free in the closing stages for Blandford but a great tackle meant the scores remained level.
