Befrienders needed in east Dorset
VOLUNTEERS are needed for a service which makes life better for older people in east Dorset.
Royal Voluntary Service and Dorset Partnership for Older Peoples Programme (POPP) are working together to establish a support scheme in Ferndown, Verwood, Wimborne and the surrounding area.
Volunteers are needed to provide a range of services to people who require additional support to remain independent. Anyone can become a volunteer and make an incredible difference to someone else’s life. Even an hour a week will make a difference.
They would also like to meet volunteers who are interested in training to be a co-ordinator in Ferndown, Verwood, West Moors and Ashley Heath. The coordinator is supported and mentored by a line manager. The coordinator is also part of a network of coordinators across Dorset.
