Dorset barmaid in tractor rescues stranded driver from floods
A DETERMINED barmaid from Dorset refused to let the recent floods keep her from work - and even managed to rescue a stranded driver on her way in.
Jennie Habberfield from Clifton Maybank hitched a lift in a friend's tractor when deep water made it impossible for her to drive her car to The Lime Tree at Thornford on Wednesday night.

As they passed through flooded roads in Bradford Abbas they came across a man sitting on the roof of a water-filled car.
"We felt rather sorry for the man, who was supposed to be driving back to Lyme Regis. His phone was dead and he didn't know what to do," Jennie said.

Lime Tree landlady Ann Evans added: "Jennie is a much valued member of staff and I'm not surprised she pulled out all the stops to get here in such adverse weather conditions. I'm sure the gentleman they helped on the way is very grateful for their kind actions too.
"We weren't expecting to be busy that night although eight intrepid skittlers from Leigh still came out.
"With our first Christmas meal booked for this Friday, we don't want the weather stopping our customers from getting here."
