Barcelona to Bournemouth charity cycle ride
TWO brothers are taking on the challenge of a lifetime by cycling 1,150 miles in 12 days to raise money for three charities that are close to their hearts.
The cycle will take Paul and James Heaton from the seafront at Barcelona on 10 September to Bournemouth Pier, where they hope to cross the finish line on 21 September.
They aim to raise £5,000 which will be split between Gastrointestinal Cancer at the Royal Bournemouth Hospital, Brain Tumour Research, and the RAF Benevolent Fund.
Paul said: “The last couple of years have been a testing time for our families, and it is amazing to see the support given to our loved ones by these organisations.

“We have been inspired to do something a little out of the ordinary to try and raise funds for the three excellent charities we have chosen. We have done loads of training and are looking forward to enjoying every mile.”
Dr Hickish, Pathology consultant, said: “We are delighted that Paul and James will be raising funds for the Gastrointestinal Cancer Unit at the Royal Bournemouth Hospital. Donations such as this will help with our research into exploring prevention of colorectal cancer and we are sincerely thankful for their support”
Paul and James will be welcomed home by friends and family on completion of their cycle ride at Bournemouth Pier on Sunday 21 September.
