Apprenticeships Boost to Care Team
A Dorset care provider is supporting National Apprenticeship Week [11 – 15 March 2013] and believes Apprenticeships are the way forward for both learners and employers. Jill Green, Care Manager at Bluebird Care (Bournemouth) has been working with local training provider FNTC Training to help all her staff gain relevant qualifications.
Jill said, "It is important to us that our care staff offer the best possible levels of care and service to our clients. It is also vital that the office team and management are up to speed with their qualifications too to enable our business to operate professionally and efficiently."

The training programme has proved to be so successful that Bluebird Care (Bournemouth) now has 80% of their staff undergoing training in either health & social care qualifications or business administration. Jill herself is studying for a level 5 qualification in management.
The latest apprentice to join the company is Paris Linford who is working in the office, and already looks set for promotion on completion of her training. Jill added, "As an employer we have found FNTC Training to be invaluable in helping us recruit and train our staff. They are accommodating, flexible and above all understand the requirements of those working in the care sector. As well as being good for our business, apprenticeship training is a confidence boost to staff as they gain work related skills and qualifications on-the-job."

Training co-ordinator Steve Barber from FNTC Training also endorses apprenticeships, saying "At the moment employers may benefit from a training grant when they take on a new apprentice. We work with employers in care, childcare and business and whatever type of company they run, there are usually excellent training opportunities to help someone start their career. Apprenticeships are a great way for individuals to gain relevant, job-related qualifications whilst earning a wage. With most of their learning done online, they are able to fit studying around work and family commitments too."
FNTC Training works with employers across the south coast to deliver apprenticeship qualifications in health and social care, childcare, business administration, customer service, management and also supporting teaching and learning in schools for classroom assistants.
Steve went on to say, "We currently have employers looking to recruit new staff. National Apprenticeships Week is the perfect opportunity to join a training programme with good job opportunities." For more information contact FNTC Training at their Bournemouth office on 01202 764520.
