ANSTY PYO & Farm Shop, which is a finalist in the Agricultural Business of the Year category, is a thriving family run business producing a huge amount of yummy-ness for the local community and beyond. They took over the Pick Your Own business over 14 years ago. Then the business was a summer venture growing strawberries, raspberries, tayberries and blackcurrants. Since then they have expanded significantly. They grow a huge amount of seasonal fruit and vegetables. The busy Farm Shop kitchen is a hive of activity constantly baking delicious award winning cakes, puddings, bread, preserves and ready meals. The little tea room offers a relaxed haven where you can enjoy a delicious cappucino or tea with a slice on home made cake. They also have their very popular Ansty Maize Maze, which is open throughout the summer holidays and the hilarious Pumpkin Olympics in October half term. Both excellent entertainment for the whole family. They have their own flock of very happy free range hens, ducks and bantams. The shop is forever changing throughout the seasons: Christmas sees a forest of beautiful trees, mistletoe, Christmas cakes and mince pies; summer sees punnets of delicious fruits and mouthwatering fresh summer vegetables; Autumn the fantastic display of pumpkins and squashes and spring brings fresh lovely rhubarb, daffodils and asparagus. Their aim is to offer customers the delicious flavours of freshly made or freshly picked produce. They also stock a large quantity of locally produced goods - dairy products, fish, ice creams, olives, chocolates, greetings cards and loads more.
