AFC Bournemouth manager Paul Groves is hoping his side will continue to improve when they host Hartlepool on Saturday.

The Cherries secured their first win of the season last weekend with a 1-0 win over Yeovil Town. Groves will want his side to record their first win at The Goldsands Stadium against a side who have also had a slow start to their League One campaign.

"It will be a tough game against a well organised Hartlepool side" said Groves, speaking to the club's official website.

"We will need to continue the progression we are showing as we have got better and better as the season has gone on.

"It has been difficult for supporters to have three away games in a row, and this is one of two very important home matches where the players want to give the supporters something to celebrate."

The Cherries have played three way games in a row, and haven't played at home since a 1-1 draw against Preston last month.

Hartlepool recorded their only win of the season against Scunthorpe, but come into Saturday's game following a 2-1 defeat against Carlisle.

The visitors have a good track record recently when visiting Dorset, but are yet to score away this season.

AFC Bournemouth goalkeeper Darryl Flahavan will miss the visit of Hartlepool, and could be sidelined for up to six months with a shoulder injury.
