“Local Government faces a major challenge over the next few years to continue to deliver high quality services with considerably reduced budgets. However, these challenges also bring opportunities and I am confident that the people of Poole, and those who serve them, can work together to ensure the borough remains a great place in which to live, learn and work.”
Councillor Elaine Atkinson, Leader of the Council, said: “John is an excellent chief executive who has made an enormous contribution to Poole during his many years with the council.
“He is respected and trusted by councillors and has always held the confidence of our staff and partners in the local community. John will be missed by everyone at the council but I have no doubt that he will continue to work hard for Poole over the coming months as he heads towards his well-deserved retirement.”
